Green Action Planning Support Launched at Let’s Do Business
G
Green action planning is a hot topic within the media at the moment, particularly when combined with the energy crisis and current market instabilities.Â
Most SMBs view climate change as a pressing problem. For example, 80% of SMEs (small to medium enterprises) surveyed by the SME Climate Hub in 2022 considered reducing their emissions ‘a high priority.’
However, SMEs are often constrained by finances, knowledge and time and, therefore, struggle to translate their climate ambitions into meaningful action. For example, 89% of SMEs surveyed by Eurobarometer in 2022 reported that they had taken some action to be more resource efficient, but only 20% have a strategy in place to reduce their carbon footprint and become climate neutral.
At Globe, we want to empower small to medium-sized companies to take impactful actions to reduce these impacts and carve a better future for people and the planet.Â
There is conclusive evidence that the impacts of climate change will affect our businesses, supply chains, and communities here in the UK and across the globe. Coupled with this, organisations have a legal and moral duty to act quickly to limit climate damages and reduce future costs to their organisation.
To prevent the worst effects of climate change and to meet the global targets laid out in the Paris agreement, it’s vital that small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) evolve and adapt to more sustainable practices, reduce their carbon emissions by working towards net-zero, and minimise their environmental impact to protect our future and here at Globe, we want to help SMEs do just that!
