In honour of Earth day, The Globe Group are pleased to announce the return of the Midlands Climate Expo at a new venue, working in partnership with Keele University and TMT First.
Earth day provides us a moment of reflection on the issues the UK is facing, we have an unprecedented cost of living crisis, with inflation at a forty-year high and with rising energy costs there has never been a more crucial time to scale up environmental programmes which not only address the climate crisis but also help to tackle the issues of biodiversity loss and social inequality.
The Globe Group is on a mission to work with organisations to address these issues at their flagship event which returns to Staffordshire on the 22nd September 2023 at the impressive Keele Hall. This new location provides the perfect setting for professionals to learn how they can further their own climate action and build new collaborative approaches.
Last year the expo saw over 400 attendees and over 100 businesses and speakers involved, led by keynote Kate Humble. This year the Expo will feature exhibitors, speakers, workshops and, new for this year, climate roundtables to discuss key issues and solutions.
The Globe Group Director, Kate Copeland said: “We believe partnerships will be the best way to solve Climate Change. We also see some of the most impactful solutions coming from non-traditional collaborations with different sectors come together to solve a common problem. This event provides the perfect incubator for those conversations to take place as we have such broad attendance, from private, public and third sector organisations. There is a significant difference we can all make if we can just learn to join the dots!
It is also wonderful to have the support of our sponsors Keele University and TMT First, who are supporting the event for a second year. Both organisations are helping to tackle the climate agenda and we are proud to be working with them.”
Adam Whitehouse, Founder and Chair of TMT First and the event sponsor added “Sustainability is at the very core of what we do. Keeping technology alive for longer is our biggest focus so we were delighted to sponsor this year’s Midlands Climate Expo at Keele University. As Kate says the only way to help tackle the climate crisis we are all facing, is for everyone to pull together. Businesses have a key part to play in this, which is why the Expo is so important. It brings together organisations to learn from each other and discuss how we can collaborate to become more sustainable and reduce the carbon footprint across the local economy and beyond. Last year’s event was brilliant – we learnt lots and made some fantastic connections – this year will be even bigger and better and we are extremely proud to be supporting it.”
